MEC Canadian National Enduro Series - Bromont Stop

The Mystery Stop - Bromont, montagne d'expériences

Many of you were waiting and wondering what the "Mystery Stop" in our initial calendar was going to be. It was hinted, that it would be Québec, and I'm excited to announce that we've partnered up with MAAXX Events from Bromont, QC to adding another stop of the MEC Canadian National Enduro Series presented by Intense Cycles.

Last year when I founded the MEC Canadian National Enduro Series, the goal was to help create a stepping stone series for Enduro riders in Canada, the focus would be on having a ton of fun on bikes, while reducing the financial barriers to athletes by hosting races closer to their hometowns, and lastly, to create a series in which key events draw the best in Canada, while providing much needed exposure for Canadian Riders.

The serie is growing

This year will be the first year in which the series operates in four different provinces; Québec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, while it's not every province, it's a solid foundation to build upon for the most fun discipline of riding!

The best Canadian Enduro racer will be crowned

One of the key pieces here is that the series is six races in total with race locations strategically picked due to their proximity to riding populations. What this means is that the majority of riders should easily be capable of reaching 2-3 races throughout the season, giving them an equal opportunity to collect series points. For example, riders located in Vancouver will likely compete at Fraser Valley, Big White and Sun Peaks; riders in Quebec, will compete at Bromont, Blue Mountain Resort and Sun Peaks Resort; riders in the Calgary/Alberta area, will likely attend Crowsnest Pass, Big White Resort and Sun Peaks.

It's important to note that the dates of the Crowsnest Pass, Blue Mountain Resort and Bromont race are scheduled close together to allow athletes an opportunity to see what there standings look like and to make the decision on whether or not they should travel to the championship at Sun Peaks Resort, which is also a 25% Bonus Round.

The BROMONT race will be July 9th, 2017, and will be hosted at Ski Bromont! If you've never ridden at Bromont, now's your chance to check out technical trails that will test your strength, your willingness to 'send it' and of course, your fitness. Just remember, "Jump for show, corner for dough!".

MAAXX Events

MAAXX Events has been running a ridiculously fun events the past four years at Bromont, from Enduro's to Downhills and everything in between, these guys are the real deal. I had heard about the B-Maaxx and MAAXX Events from some friends in Ontario/QC and when I first reached out to them, they were equally stoked on to help bring something awesome to the riders! Nicolas and the team at MAAXX Events have been a staple of the Bromont bike community, and if you follow our series at all, you know that community is something we cherish. While it is a race, it's also about exploring new riding areas, having adventures and really, throwing a high-five with your buddies at the end of a long day! The MAAXX team embodies this and when it comes to race organization, there team is top notch!

The partnership will see the CNES work closely with the MAAXX Team (Nicolas, Laurent, Jean-Simon), to ensure consistency and build on their already ridiculously wild events.

Here is what the MAAXX Events team had to say about the partnership:

We're really excited by the opportunity to hold such a big event. This might be the biggest mountain bike event at Bromont, montagne d'expériences since the UCI World Cup in 2009. Racers will be amazed by this event!
