The Ski Bromont venue just experienced an exciting weekend of racing hosted by the Maaxx Events crew! The sun was up on Saturday afternoon while racers lined up at the start gate for the fifth and final round of the B-Maaxx downhill series. The course snaked through the Bike Park before taking riders towards the bottom of the #20. Then, if the downhill action wasn't enough, the first Enduro Maaxx took place on Sunday morning! It consisted of three stages that spanned across three different slopes, one of which featuring a trail freshly carved for this new event.
B-MAAXX Round 5
The racing over the weekend kicked off with the last round of the B-Maaxx downhill series. The format brought on average close to 100 amateur riders to each race this season, making for some tight competition on every course. Many had even made the jump participating in the Quebec Cup series, proving that the confidence gained with B-Maaxx is helping riders progress between the tape.

The next Casey Brown? There's always time for style during your race run!
Audrée Vaillancourt (Trees/Kona) focused, on her way to first place! She came back swinging after a crazy fall at the Vallée du Parc Qc Champs a couple weekends back.
Sam Thibault (Banshee/Major Cycles) enjoying the track!
Phil Ricard (Lama Cycles/NS Bikes) kept himself close to the top step all season long and, with the cumulative points count looming overhead, he put the hammer down and took the win and the overall for the season!

Enduro has finally landed in Bromont! With such a huge cycling culture in the region and the ever growing presence of smaller travel bikes, it only makes sense to begin a series that caters to the fantastic all-mountain trails traced around the hill. Riders gathered at the base chair on Sunday morning for a briefing and some warm up climbs. The first climb put you 3/4 of the way up to the start on a fresh loamy track.
Liam Rourke's bike check, complete with sticker bombed stanchions and aviators to say the least. He was more than ready for the occasion... #ENDURO #CaseKing
Up! Up! Up!
Valérie Beauregard making her way through the new section of track.
Rachel Pageau put up a strong race, placing first at the end of the day.
I mean, Halloween is around the corner...
Some sections of the final stage were still being broken in. This tight corner kept trying to grab front tires! Rumor has it the photographer bit the dust making his way down the stage, camera gear and all.
Popping out of berms.
Phil Ricard (Lama Cycles/NS Bikes) has had a great season. He took the overall in the Quebec Cup series, stole the show as well for the B-Maaxx downhill series, and still had enough juice left to climb to the top of the podium after Sunday's three-stage race. What a machine!

We would like to give a big thanks to the participants, sponsors, Ski Bromont, Cycles Performance, and Major Cycles, volunteers, and anyone else who helped turn the B-Maaxx, and as of recent Enduro Maaxx, into an awesome series! We hope to see you again next year!
